Hi, Welcome to Seva House.
It takes a great deal of courage and determination to see a therapist and it will be an honour and privilege to travel alongside you on your path to healing and personal growth.
I began my journey working in Human Services and welfare back in 1995; as a volunteer telephone counsellor at Lifeline, whilst I studied at TAFE, working towards obtaining a Diploma in Community Welfare. Sparking my passion and interest in advocating for our most vulnerable people in society, I knew I had found my place and in 2009 I graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Social Work.
Over the years I have worked with a wide diversity of people within both the government, non-government services and Internationally in the Solomon Islands – a place where I grew both personally and professionally and loved working with Indigenous people within the community.
I have extensive experience working alongside people who have experienced sexual abuse, domestic violence, grief and loss, life adjustment, aged care, carer support , chronic illness and people struggling with powerful emotions such as stress, depression, anxiety, and complex trauma. I have also worked with young people who have been harmed and/or have caused harm to others. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, women, and men of all ages.
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Work (AASW), a Clinical Resource Therapist and an Approved EMDR Therapist (EMDRAA).
During my professional journey I have pursued further learning opportunities and training which have led me to become experienced in several therapies including Narrative Therapy, Solution -Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Radical Exposure Tapping – Level 1 Deactivating The Buttons, Clinical Resource Therapy and Eye Movement De-senzitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I also provide clinical supervision and am trained in Conscious Connection Breathwork as a Facilitator.
I work in Private Practice at Seva House, 2 days per week with other Accredited Mental Health Social Workers and Psychologists who share the same social justice values as myself. We are all authentic and compassionate in providing a non-judgemental, safe and nurturing space for people who have experienced significant challenges in their lives or who would just like life to feel different to the way it currently does.
